外資系企業からのオファー獲得！①職務経歴書の英語版作成のコツと経験共有

転職活動を始めて約3か月、数社での書類落ち、一次面接落ち、最終面接落ちなどを経験したのちに、ようやくある外資系の企業からオファーをいただきました！しかも年収30％アップの提示！書類選考、1次面接、2次面接、最終面接、そしてオファー面談での経験と学び、どうように乗り越えたかを共有していきます。まずは書類選考、職務経歴書についてです。

この案件は、登録していた”ビズリーチ”である転職エージェントさんから直接の紹介メッセージを受けた案件でした。エージェントさんと何度かやり取りして最初は初の外資系チャレンジということもあり躊躇していたのですが、まずは応募して書類選考が通ってから考えようと思い思い切って応募しました。

さて、今回応募する企業は外資系の大手企業、当然のことながら英語で職務経歴書を書く必要があります。

ただ、日本語の職務経歴書と英語の職務経歴書（ResumeまたはCV）は、形式や内容にいくつかの違いがありますので、その辺を注意しながら記載する必要があります。以下では、英語の職務経歴書の書き方と、自分の職務経歴書を参考にした事例をご紹介します。私のものが完璧であるわけではないので、あくまでご参考まで・・・

英語の職務経歴書の書き方

英語の職務経歴書は、日本語のものに比べて比較的簡素に書くように努めました。日本語の職務経歴書は実績や経験値など結構詳しく文章で記載しましたが、英語の文書の場合はあまり長いと読んでくれないリスクもあるとのことでしたので、できるだけシンプルに書くことを意識しています。

1. 構成とフォーマット:
   • 日本の職務経歴書は通常、履歴書と職務経歴書が分かれているのに対し、英語の職務経歴書は一つの書類として提出されることが多く、この書類はCV（Curriculum Vitae）またはResumeと呼ばれます​¹​。フォーマットはA4サイズで1、2枚程度となり、市販のフォームはないため、パソコンで作成します​¹​。
2. 個人情報と目的:
   • 英文の職務経歴書では、「Personal Information（氏名や連絡先）」および「Objective（応募職種）」を明記することが重要です​¹​。目的ステートメントは、あなたが追求する職種やその職種に対する関心や適性を示すものであり、日本の職務経歴書には通常含まれていないセクションです​²​。
3. スキルと職務経歴の強調:
   • 「Key Skills（自身のスキル・強み）」および「Work Experience（職務経歴）」セクションは、英文の職務経歴書の重要な部分であり、特に「Work Experience」セクションでは、あなたがいかにして応募企業に貢献できるか、そして採用することで企業にどのようなメリットがあるのかを明示することが重要です​¹​。
4. 明瞭かつ簡潔に表現する:
   • 英文の職務経歴書は読む人にとって明確で読みやすいものでなければなりません。セクションは明確に整理し、フォントは読みやすく、マージンとホワイトスペースを利用して文書が圧迫感を持たないようにすることが重要です​³​。
5. 職務経歴の書き方:
   • 英文の職務経歴書における職務経歴の書き方は、日本の職務経歴書とは異なるため注意が必要です​⁴​。具体的な職務内容や成果に焦点を当て、どのようにその経験が新しい職務にとって有益であるかを明示することが求められます。
